Learning what’s most important about salmon can be made boring or fun:
The salmon is an anadromous species, meaning it spawns
in fresh water but lives most of its life at sea.
After 2 to 5 years of river life, the brood transforms to be able to live in salt water.
You could explain it like that and perhaps a few people with a special interest may remember; but say the salmon’s a happy chappy, the top gun of white-water rafting and well-proportioned with pretty spots, and everyone’s on board, especially when you see the salmon in the water at the same time and get an exercise to solve.
But of course this isn’t just about salmon.
Every subject can, and should, be put in a logical
relationship and dramatized with tests and exercises.
